NATIONAL MEDICAL STORES DELIVERS DRUGS TO OYAM DISTRICT.

National Medical stores has finally delivered essential drugs to Oyam district. Caroline Agaro, the Oyam district acting health officer confirmed the receipt of the medical commodities where she cautioned medical workers against theft of these government drugs. "Health workers, ensure that these drugs are not stolen, be vigilant and ensure proper usage of these drugs", she warned.  "I am also warning members of the public who have the tendency of going to the health facilities to pick drugs even if they are not sick, this practice must not be tolerated here in Oyam, she added.

Dan Odongo, Assistant Inventory Officer of Oyam equally said that they have received enough quantities of ARVs and anti-malarial drugs compared to other drugs adding that this is because of the high prevalences of HIV and malaria in the district. "This time round we have received deliveries for three cycles for all the 29 government health facilities with ARVS and anti- malaria drugs having the largest quantities", he remarked.

Meanwhile, Benson Dilla, the Oyam district LC5 chairman appealed to the health centre management committee and others stakeholders to be closely monitor the delivery of the respective health facilities to stump out any possible incident of to drug theft which he said has been so rampant in Oyam district for the last three years where such cases could be registered weekly.
