A section of Boda Boda riders of Lira City on Tuesday stormed the office of the RCC protesting the transfer of DPC Lira, SP.Abel Ruganza.
The highly charged boda boda cyclists matched to the Lira Resident City Commissioner Lawrence Emmy Egole`s office to express their disappointment following the recent transfer of Superintendent of Police (SP) Abel Ruganza.

They reason that the transferred officer contributed a lot to the current peace being enjoyed in the city due to his mode of operations and they believe that the new person will not deliver to their expectations which in turn with jeopardize the security in the city. "we want Afande Ruganza back, he used to response swiftly once called upon, he had mastered this city very well and he knew how to deal with the wrong elements", they chanted. They added, "we want his transfer reversed with an immediate effect". "He (Afande Ruganza) was like our savior, he has helped us a lot, our lives and motor cycles are now safe because of him, " they stressed.

While at the Lira RCC`s office, Mr. Lawrence Emmy Egole, advised the boda boda leadership to make formal complaint to his office for redress instead of going on demonstration. "I implore your leadership to lodge a formal complaint to my office so that we see how to handle your issue, don’t continue with this demonstration it will not help to address your concern" he directed.
 
In the recent transfers, DPC Abel Ruganza has been taken to Agago district meanwhile SP Brian Mpaire from Agago district replaced him at Lira CPS.
