After close to four years since the residual Vurra County became Arua district after Arua municipality was elevated in to a city, the major district offices remained in the city, and yet they provide services in the district.

Fast to break this barrier is the office of the Resident District Commissioner, RDC.  Of the district that has successfully shifted to the district.

Geoffrey Okiswa, the RDC of the district believes, the relocation of his office from the city to the district will do a great deal in delivering services to the people in the district.

Okiswa says, when the office was still in the city, the people in the district used to struggle to access their services due to the long distance and other factors, and this made some of them to give up on the services acquired from his office. “This is in light of bringing services nearer to the people, since I came to Arua, I have been seating in the city, near the RCC and this was causing a lot of confusion,” okiswa said. He said the people did not know the difference between the RDC and the RCC which made him to handle a lot of issues which were supposed to be for the city leaders.

The newly rented office building is located in Embeva   village, Eruba parish, Vurra sub-county in Arua district. Some of the district leaders accommodated in the building include the deputy RDC, the assistant RDCS, the DISO and his deputy.
