The West Nile regional league has hit its biggest snag involving two of the greatest and on form football clubs from the Nile Zone of the regional league.

In a rescheduled regional match between the two sides in a neutral venue St. Charles Lwanga college Koboko on April 17, 2024, Araka FC from Yumbe District failed to honor the fixture citing irregularities, poor approach but also abrupt notification from the region.

Speaking to the media, Mansur Ashraf Juma Kobobi, the Chief Executive Officer Araka FC who is already furious with Odramachaku FC and West Nile Region Football Association (WNRFA) the regulator of the league.

He cites the genesis being Odramachaku FC who in the first place committed atrocities including hooliganism, assaulting and insulting an Ex.com member of the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) when they (Araka FC ) travelled to Odramachaku for the game which was abandoned subsequently due to security reasons therefore, Odramachaku FC was ordered to pay a sum of Three hundred thousand shillings only(300,000/-) as a transport refund through the West Nile Region Football Association (WNRFA) accounts within seven days from April 4, 2024  which was not paid until April 17 , 2024 the match day of the rescheduled fixture at around 10:00am not in accordance with the verdict.

According to Lema Dickson the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Odramachaku FC ,all the necessary requirements were met before the new date of the match .“ I think the truth is that  as Odramachaku FC,  we complied very well with the Competition committee ,paid the transport refund for Araka and travelled for the game in Koboko on Wednesday 17, 2024 only for Araka not to appear, so where is our problem, ” he questioned.

However the West Nile Region Football Association (WNRFA) refutes that the claims of abrupt notification as cited by the CEO Araka FC are baseless and un-informed therefore must be passionately and mercilessly ignored.
